Bio & Background

Born in 1992 in Italy, Nicola de Marco has always pursued his interest in all forms of narrative and performative media such as literature, cinema, theater and video games. Until 2013, he applied storytelling as a stage magician and videomaker, and then founded one of the most succesful pop science (and general culture and trivia) pages in Italy, “Sapevatelo!”. Through these years, he maintained an interest for complex interactive media such as video games, ergodic literature and ARGs (Alternate Reality Games, multimedia games played by collective investigation) and their communities, developing an interest in TTRPGs (Tabletop Role Playing Games), starting a career in designing them and developing new ways to blur the lines between classical media, classical games and new forms of shared storytelling.

Awaken - The Liborian Saga

Liborian Saga is a Setting Sourcebook for the Awaken RPG (The Games Collective - Studio2 Publishing), a very dark spin on slavic and mediterranean mythology, co-written by Nicola. The sourcebook contains a host of new creatures for the game and hundreds of details, mysteries and plot hooks about the land, sea and cities of the Liborian region of the continent, along new usable items and substances, rules for naval combat, weapons and powers for playing characters.
